Five reasons to get LASIK surgery

There are many reasons why people get LASIK surgery. Some people have just one motivator, or multiple reasons; either way they understand the importance of good vision. After many years of performing the procedure, doctors have found that the following five reasons are the most commonly expressed by their LASIK surgery patients:

1. People desire clear vision without the hassle of glasses or contact lenses, plain and simple. They want to rise in the morning and just automatically see clearly.

2. Many people feel they do not look good in glasses and are unable to wear contacts. They want to look their best and not have to worry about whether their glasses match their fashion. This is something more women are concerned about than men, but that is changing as more men become fashion conscious.

3. People who are very physically active or play sports regularly, can find glasses or contacts impossible to maintain. This is especially true if the person is a professional athlete who must play regardless of their vision problems. LASIK is a great option for swimmers because they are unable to wear glasses or contacts while competing.

4. Many people want to be forever free of the burden of their eyesight problems. This is a major motivator for those who have had to wear glasses and get yearly eye exams from a young age. It can be a very costly but necessary expense, with no way around it. People must be able to see properly to function and LASIK can be a good way to save money, in the long run.

5. A large majority of people who receive LASIK surgery work in a field where it can be dangerous to wear or possibly lose their glasses or contacts. Whether they are photographers, a professional athlete or a NAVY Seal, most people depend on good vision to be able to do their job effectively. For some occupations, being able to see clearly can mean the difference between life or death for them.
